Coffee is an important part of daily life in Vietnam. Every morning, millions of Vietnamese people start their day with a cup of coffee, often enjoyed slowly at a street-side café.

Vietnamese coffee is famous for its strong flavour. It is traditionally brewed using a small metal filter called a “phin”. The coffee slowly drips into the cup below, creating a rich and bold drink. Many people add condensed milk to make “cà phê sữa”, a sweet and creamy favourite.

Coffee was introduced to Vietnam by the French in the 19th century. Today, Vietnam is one of the largest coffee exporters in the world. The Central Highlands, with its cool climate and fertile soil, is the main coffee-growing region.

It is not just a drink; for many Vietnamese, coffee represents a way of life – taking time to relax, chat with friends, and watch the world go by.
